Designed to be easy to use, RTL-Video© is a self contained time-lapse image generation system. Users of this system include architectural engineers, who want to monitor the progress of their buildings while under construction, material engineers, who want to preform hot inspections of metal rolling processes, allowing them to detect defeats while production is underway, and security personnel, who want to monitor areas at select time intervals. There are several types of timers for the control of the time-lapse imagery. The interval timer allows settings from one second to many minutes between images. The calendar timer allows the user to setup the program to run for hours/days/months, obtaining images at set interval times for very long periods. The Staggered timer allows the user to obtain imagery at uneven time intervals. The Interactive timer allows users to input time brackets, allowing for input times when events are actually happening, say during weekdays, and disabling the timer over weekends. The Buffer timer allows the user to obtain a sequence of images from 1 to 30 frames per second with even time intervals between frames. The user also has control over how many images are taken per time interval. All images are saved via the Windows® native bitmap format so that there are no losses to the image due to compression. There is also a Snap feature to allow the user to take and save an image at anytime. The complete system includes a loaded Pentium 4 based PC, a color 640 x 480 video frame grabber, a color CCD camera, and optics. Also available are the software and frame grabber only. Other options are also available. Contact Controlled Capture Systems for more information.

RTL Main Screen

RTL-Video© Main Screen

The RTL-Video© main screen contains all the necessary controls to obtain time controlled imagery. The time-lapse controls allow you to enter segments of time in which imagery should be taken. Here test times of several days, weeks, months along with imagery intervals times from 1 second to several hours. There is a staggered timer function to allow the user to take imagery in uneven time intervals. The interactive timer also the user to setup the system to obtain imagery only during week days, skipping weekend days. The system obtains imagery and saves each image with a unique time-stamped file name at the specified interval rate.

File Player Screen

File Player Screen

The RTL-Video© File Player program for RTL-Video© allows the user to review the saved time-lapse imagery. A time delay may be entered as to slow the presentation rate between images.

Bitmap to AVI fielscreen

BMP to AVI Converter Screen

The .BMP to .AVI converter is a simple program that converts a directory of sequential RTL-Video© bitmap files into an .AVI type movie. Your original bitmaps files remain untouched, as this process is non-destructive.
